Poem
After Amos

I have heard your organs wheezing
I have heard your guitars thrash
I have heard your singers hissing
I have heard your cymbals crash
I have heard your piano tinkling
I have heard your drummers bash
I have heard your tambourine jangling
I have heard your voices clash

Is it time to worship when
The hungry are unfed
The thirsty are unquenched
The strangers are unwelcomed
The naked are unclothed
The sick are untended
The prisoners are unvisited

What have you done with
The cascades of justice like torrents
The rivers of righteousness like oceans

They are
Unending, everlasting, never failing
